White vinegar and baking soda
You may not know it, but both white vinegar and baking soda have multiple applications in household cleaning. The quantities you should use of these ingredients to clean a burned pan are ½ cup of white vinegar (4 fl oz), one cup of water (8 fl oz) and two tablespoons of baking soda (1 ounce). For best results, follow the steps below:
- First, pour the white vinegar into the burnt pan.
- Add the water and bring to a boil.
- Then remove the pan from the heat and add the baking soda. It will start to react with an effervescent effect, which will make the dirt come off easily.
- Then scrub with the sponge and remove the burned remains.
- Finally, if any residue remains, rub it off with dry baking soda.
Potatoes and rock salt
It may sound strange to you, but it is possible to clean a burned pan with a potato and coarse salt. It is a combination of 100 percent natural exfoliating ingredients that, due to their consistency, remove residue without damaging the surface of the pans.
The ingredients needed to enjoy this trick are a raw potato, a tablespoon of coarse salt and a teaspoon of olive oil . When you have everything ready, you just need to follow these instructions:
- To start, cut the potato in half.
- Next, rinse the pan and remove as much of the attached debris as you can.
- Next, it’s time to sprinkle coarse salt over the surface of the pan.
- Now, instead of scrubbing with a straws, do it using the cut potato. Rub the surface for a few minutes in circular motions.
- Then remove the food residue and burned with water.
- To finish, pour a teaspoon of olive oil and spread it all over the surface to protect your pans.
Coarse salt and aluminum foil
This trick is recommended for cleaning a burned pan, particularly those made of iron. Its use does not wear away the surface and allows you to remove attached food remains. It is very simple and all you need is a tablespoon of coarse salt and aluminum foil.
The first thing you will need to do is to sprinkle the surface of the pan with a tablespoon of salt.
Then, make a ball with the aluminum foil and use it to rub the burned areas until the foil turns dark.
To finish, rinse and wipe as you usually do.
